How do I know what skills this individual really has? There are many ways to answer this question, and it doesn’t have to be expensive, time consuming, or difficult. Yes, assessments can be an effective tool in evaluating skills, but what about all the other information that’s already right at your fingertips?

Through its Skills Validation Network, Education Design Lab has defined a simple formula: Validation = Evidence + Evaluation. Forms of skill evidence abound, and there are many ways to make sense of this evidence. In this session, learn how applying this formula in your context can widen talent pipelines, strengthen educational programming, and ensure better, more reliable skills data.
