Credential Engine is demystifying the credential marketplace by bringing both transparency and common understanding to credentials through web-based services. The Credential Engine Registry collects, maintains, and connects information about the various degrees, diplomas, certificates, credentials, badges, apprenticeships and more that are currently on the market using a common credential language. The registry empowers both individuals and employers with additional information that allows users to compare credentials and make informed decisions about career pathways and education. It launched in late 2017 with thousands registry entries and will continue to expand as additional information is added. In partnership with Walmart, Credential Engine is working with stakeholders to identify and publish data about credentials relevant to both the retail and hospitality industries with the eventual goal of developing career pathway tools for both frontline workers and employers.
